Above quotes are thanks to Monta....
Events this week... (Mom's handwriting was super shaky by this point, so sometimes I have a hard time reading her handwriting on her calendar. If I mess things up, or miss things, I am super sorry!)
1 April -April Fools Day. (Story about this later in the letter.)
2 April Wendy Thomas
I guess Wendy gets the honor all to herself this week!
Missionary updates...
Liam has quite a few investigators, all of which are super excited about learning more about the gospel. He adds, "So many good things are happening here. So many miracles. So many tender mercies. So much change. I have truly come to know true conversion, or at least the start of it. I can't really express my feelings to you. I don't have the vocabulary to do so. My heart is full. I love this country. I love this people. I love this work. And I love the Savior."
Robbie- had two baptisms this week. Both are youth from inactive families that started reactivating as their children got ready for baptism. And after being in an area that he LOVES for 6 months, it looks like he will be transferred.
no news from Easton or Cameron yet...
Family news-
Cara writes, "Hyrum has figured out how to open drawers. And the one under the oven is one of his favorites".
She adds, "I've noticed recently that it seems Ethan can get Hyrum full-belly laughing more than anyone else (except maybe Barry). Ethan and Hyrum must have the same sense of humor because the simplest (and most random) thing from Ethan can get Hyrum throwing back his head in uncontrollable laughter. It is adorable!"
I got very few letters, blog posts or info this week. If you haven't sent me an update during my short tenure, do it in the next couple of weeks. All it takes is one or two quick sentences, folks!
OK now for a great April Fools joke. Bryce does this every year and every year it goes well. He puts a small spool of black or dark thread in his suit jacket's top pocket. He uses a needle to thread an inch or two through the shoulder seam. Then when he is with a fellow employee (females work best), he starts pulling on the thread, asking what is this? As he pulls out 12 plus inches, the person panics! "Don't do that! Stop!" They say in a panic. They think he is unraveling a seam. It is great!
I have loved watching the news today with all the businesses doing April Fools jokes. Bryce read to me a list of stories from past years of the best jokes from the past. Here are some links to some fun stories if you are interested.... http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/aprilfool/
Easter was yesterday. We focus on the true meaning of Easter. We had great church meetings focusing on that, including a great 5th Sunday combined meeting. My granddaughter, 2 year old Emmeline, says we celebrate Easter because "Jesus is alive today!"
But also, there is fun to notice. The Washington Post always has a PEEPS contest, using the marshmallow peeps to create scenes, art, etc. Below are some of my favorite from this year and years past.
I guess that's all for now. Have a good week. Work hard, study hard, pray hard.
Carol
