I haven't been able to update lately. Life has taken over a bit. Today I am in Las Vegas, visiting Katie and her family for Thanksgiving. Since I do not have access to my home computer, I don't have the missionary stuff or blog info that has been emailed to me. So I thought I would do two short blogs. I will do this update, then I will follow up later in the week, or even as late as next Sunday with the Mission updates and family news that has been sent to me.
It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy.
“Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.” -- Oprah Winfrey
"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds." - Theodore Roosevelt
Birthdays, anniversaries, etc will follow in the next post since I don't have Mom's calendar in Las Vegas.
Some big news...the Campbell's (Kelli and Allen) are moving to Las Vegas this weekend. And they also announced that they are expecting child #4! Big changes ahead for them.
Since I don't have access to much info, I went stalking on Facebook and blogs. (It sure saves time when you send it to me, rather than me stalking some of you....) Here is some fun updates.
At Kim Soelberg Brough's home, there was a family Thanksgiving dinner. Aunt Karen, Uncle Legrand, Kim's family, and Teresa Soelberg Bartholomew's family were all together.
McKayThomas has been working on starting a new business called First Opinion. It is now up and running! You can go to the App Store and download the First Opinion app. His business offers 24/7 access to a doctor (texting, emailing, etc) so you can get your problems and concerns answered without having to make appointments, wait for openings, etc. You get the info when you need it. I think it is designed for parents..medical answers for sick children.
Davis and Asialene and girls have moved back to the USA! They bought a home in Sandy, not too far from Ole and Dena. His new company is also about ready to launch. Cotopaxi. Check it out. More on this in a future post.
Stuart send an update recently. Here is part of it. Here sit I 2 1/2 months since the accident. Let me ramble a bit. So many things I took for granted. Ability to put on my own shoes & socks. Pick up a bar of soap that falls in the bathtub. Walking and buttoning up a shirt at the same time. Sitting up in bed. Taking a shower by myself. Thousands of things every day. I note these things as I again become able to do them ! Yesterday, I went upstairs in our house for the first time since the accident. (OH, that's where I used to live ! ) I live and sleep in a guest bedroom on the main floor. I'm on crutches for at least a few more weeks.
More later....
Work hard, study hard, pray hard.
